Back Pain
Back pain does not always give pain simply into the back. It can often cause remote
symptoms such as pain in the buttock, groin or legs.
Leg symptoms can be caused by
pressure from the low back on specific
nerve roots.
Back problems account for over 50% of all the cases which osteopaths see.
Not all back pain is the result of injury.
Other causes can include:
- Arthritis
- Kidney Disease
- Tumours
- Rheumatic Conditions
Osteopaths are skilled in diagnosing problems that require further investigations.
Most people's back problems are however the result of accumulated strains and stresses placed on the
spine over years and eventually they can cause
damage to ligaments,
muscles, discs or joints
in the spine.
